The new year means new trends or things to consider in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) industry in 2025. This can include an increased consumer demand for energy efficiency, sustainability, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).

  1. Increased Use of Smart HVAC systems

In 2025 there is going to be a bigger focus on switching to smart HVAC systems. Why is this? Well, smart HVAC systems are able to offer capabilities that increase efficiency and use of air conditioning and heating. These systems can have automated integration with home voice control devices like google home and smartphones.

  1. Focus on Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

Two important things to consider when upgrading or using HVAC systems in 2025 are energy efficiency and sustainability. With climate change trends becoming a larger concern and energy costs being high this puts added pressure to meet these standards as time progresses.

Some key things that are highlighted in 2025 are High Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) equipment and more eco-friendly refrigerants to phase out HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons).

  1. Growth of Heat Pump Technology

The use of heat pumps instead of the typical HVAC systems is gaining traction in 2025. Heat pumps are systems that are able to provide heating and cooling. They work by transferring heat from one location to another. For example, if you are needing heat it transfers heat from external sources (air, ground, or water).

  1. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Since the pandemic there has been an increased need for Indoor Air Quality (IAQ).

Some key innovations that can help with this are:

  • Air Purifiers - Can be integrated into HVAC systems or be purchased standalone to purify the air.

  • Advanced Filtration - HEPA filters and UV light systems are going to be used more to help kill viruses, bacteria, and keep air clean in indoor spaces.

  1. Integrating Renewable Energy

With the increase in sustainable energy use there will be more integration with renewable energy and HVAC systems. Many HVAC users may be integrating solar energy, especially in places with lots of sunlight. There will also be an increase in manufacturing to make this integration easy to pair with heating, cooling, and ventilation.

  1. Increased Need for HVAC Technicians

HVAC technicians provide a much needed service, especially when extreme weather patterns put a heavy strain on HVAC systems. There are many certifications and education opportunities available to become certified. Some companies are helping technicians get their certification and training to increase opportunities within the field.

If you are interested in any of these trends, reach out to us at Air-Mart AC & Heating for more information. If you are needing a new and energy efficient HVAC system reach out to us to help you find the right system for your space. If you are interested in training or a position at Air-Mart we do have opportunities for new technicians that want to learn and become certified.
